Project Overview

This project in Shelbyville, Delaware focused on creating a complete outdoor living space that combines cooking, seating, and open gathering areas into one cohesive layout. The existing backyard offered plenty of space, but it lacked defined zones for entertaining and everyday use.

We installed a large paver patio using a blended pattern that adds visual interest while remaining easy to maintain. A contrasting border was used throughout the patio and walkways to clearly define edges, curves, and transitions, giving the entire space a finished, intentional look. The layout flows naturally from the home toward the fire pit and seating areas, making the space feel open without losing structure.

The outdoor kitchen serves as the centerpiece of the design, built on a masonry base and finished with stacked stone veneer for a solid, built-in appearance. Natural stone countertops provide ample prep and serving space, while stainless steel appliances are integrated cleanly into the structure. Nearby, a circular fire pit and curved seat wall create a comfortable gathering area that anchors the patio and encourages conversation.

Careful base preparation and grading were completed throughout the project to ensure proper drainage and long-term performance. The finished result is a balanced outdoor space that works just as well for casual evenings as it does for hosting larger gatherings.
